IPTV on PC & Mac
Your computer is a brilliant IPTV screen. A free player, your Strong 8K login, and you have 40,000+ channels in 4K on Windows or macOS, with no extra hardware.
Two easy routes
Watching Strong 8K on a laptop or desktop is straightforward, and there are two good ways to do it. The simplest is a desktop player app that takes your Xtream login. The other is a media player like VLC, which can open your M3U playlist with nothing to install beyond the player itself.
Both work on Windows and macOS, and both stream in 4K on capable hardware. We cover each below so you can pick whichever suits you.
Before you start
- A Windows PC or a Mac, online.
- Your Strong 8K welcome email with your Xtream login and M3U URL.
- A player: a desktop IPTV app, or VLC for the M3U route.
Using a desktop IPTV app
Install a desktop player
Download an IPTV desktop app that supports Xtream Codes for Windows or macOS.
Open and add a profile
Launch the app and choose to add a new login using the Xtream Codes API option.
Enter your Strong 8K details
Type your username, password and server URL exactly as written in your email.
Load the line-up
Let the app pull in your channels and guide, then start watching in 4K.
Using VLC and your M3U
Prefer no extra software? Open VLC, go to Media then Open Network Stream, and paste your Strong 8K M3U playlist URL. VLC loads the channel list and you can play any of them. It is a quick, no-frills way to watch, though it lacks a proper guide.
Get the best from your computer
Go full screen
Press the full-screen key to make the most of your monitor. A second display works nicely for matches.
Wire in for 4K
A wired connection keeps high-resolution streams steady, especially on a busy network.
Pick the app for a guide
If you want the electronic programme guide, use the desktop app route rather than VLC.
Quick fixes
A login or playlist error is nearly always a typo in the server URL or M3U link, so re-check it. Buffering points to the network, so try ethernet or a router restart. If VLC will not open the stream, confirm you pasted the full M3U URL with no stray spaces.
